Birmingham FIDE Rapid 15+5 and Blitz 3+2

On the 4th October 2025, a FIDE rated Rapid and Blitz tournament is taking place at the Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School in Birmingham. Prizes and bonuses are available.

Rapid
Rapid will be 15+5 with 5 rounds, with an Open and U1650 section. Round 1 starts at 10:15am.
The Open has a prize fund of £125, with £100 for the U1650 section.
The entry fee is £15 and an ECF gold membership or higher is needed. In absense of membership, a £15 surchage is applied.

Blitz
Blitz will be a Swiss tournament consisting of 7 rounds, 3+2 with one Open section. Round 1 starts at 14:45.
Entry fee is £15, however ECF gold membership is not required.
The prize fund is £125.

Free entry to Grandmasters and International Masters. Half price for FIDE Masters.

If you are entering both tournaments, the entry fee is £25.

If you are a ECF member but don’t have a FIDE code email Dave Clayton the International Rating Officer iro@englishchess.org.uk and request one.

If you are not an ECF member and don’t have a FIDE ID code please call Andrew on 01424 775222 in order to join the ECF or obtain a FIDE code before the event.
